IMMIGRATION TO OTAGO.
The Superintendent I as been advised from Wellington that the ship Lady Jocelyn sailed from London f r Otago in August I with 195 immigrants, equal to 1 OJ statute adults ; the Otago on July 15 with 1194 statute adults. On the subject of coal miners for Otago, Mr Buller writes to Mr O’Rorke.. “ Referring to your telegram, dated May 16, [ have to transmit a nominal list of miners who proceed to Otago per ship 1 ady Jocelyn direct, and per ship Helen Denny, via Wellington, equal in number to 45 statute adults. The miners sent per Helen Denny are forwarded via Wellington, on account of their notice to leave their employers having expired about the August 1, and they could not afford to delay their departure till the 27th instant, on which date the Zealandia is fixed to sail direct for Otago. A furti er number of Welsh apd Whitehaven m'ners are likely to follow in the Zealandia on the above date.”
