A fine painting by Albert Durcris now on view at Antwerp. It comes from the monastery of Tangerloo, is painted on wood, and represents the Virgin, suckling the infant Christ, surrounded by the members of her family. The monogram of Durer has been discovered on the drapery upon which the child Jesus reposes. Miss Anna Lea, who painted the “Salome” in the Academy, New York, exhibits two portraits in the Royal Academy. One is that of Miss Rose Hawthorne. J. K. Kilton has contributed to the same exhibition an Egyptian scene, which is favorably spoken of, and Eugene Benson a genre work called “The Strayed Maskers.”
