MINISTERIAL ALLOWANCES.

A return was laid upon the table of the House of Representatives a few days ago, in accordance with an order of the House upon the motion of Mr W, Johnston, “ showing all the travelling allowances, residence allowances, house allowances, and other allowances leceived by Ministers during each of the four years ended 30th June, 1873* find the sources from which such allowances were paid, and, in connection with the travelling allowances, the nature of the service and the period during which it was performed. ” This return shows that during the financial year 1869-70 the amount of allowances drawn by each Minister was as follows Hon.
