RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
Saturday, August 16. (Before I. N. Watt, Esq., R.M.)
Clark v, Hokeywood.— Claim, L 5 3s 6d, for money paid by plaintiff for defendant, &c. Mr Stout appeared for plaintiff, who stated that defendant wrote from Clyde asking him to get a pair of boots for him, which he did. The price was L2 ss. Defendant kept the boots for a long time, and then •eft them at witness’s house. The remainder of the claim was for board and lodging, &c., and interest on the debt.—W. Clarke, bootmaker, said he made the boots in question. —Lydia Clark, wife of plaintiff, stated that defendant was at their house one day, and left the boots there without mentioning anything about them. Judgment was given for plaintiff for L2 ss, with costs.
