Tokomairiro, August I, The following is the result of to-day’s election of Municipal Councillors for Milton .-—Fast Ward: G. Wilson, 24; R. W. Capstick, 21 ; W. Marshall, 18. South Ward : J. J. Lane, 30 ; A. D. Duncan, 14 West Ward : H. White, 23 ; E, Stewart, 19 ; E. Marryatt, 18.
Lawrence, August 1. Constable Youngson, of Tapanui, discovered the body of a man named Henrv Waistcoat lying by the sido of a fence about three miles from Rae’s Hotel. It is supposed that death was caused by ill-health and exposure. An inquest will be held tomorrow.
Bluff, August 2. The Alhambra left Melbourne on Sunday the 27th July, with the English mails ex Baroda, and arrived off the Bluff at 10 p.m. on the Ist. She came to the wharf at 7 a.m. on the 2nd, She was detained at Melbourne twenty-four hours waiting for the English mail. She brings thirty-two saloon and twenty-five steerage passengers, and 413 tons for all ports. She sails at 4 p.m. this afternoon for Dunedin.
Passengers : Messrs Walker, Blyth, Joel, New, Telford, M‘Donald, Lorenzen, Mrs Williams and family (7), Mrs M‘Donald and child, Rev. E. Williams, Mrs Joel, Master Joel; and 15 in the steerage.

The lady Bird went yesterday to the wreck of the Rangitoto. Three parts of the funnel and the forecastle deck are above water. The wreck is to be auctioned on Monday. The Napier is now at the wreck saving cargo for the insurers. She had 170 tons on board for Wellington. The inquiry resulted in the captain and mate being censured and admonished. Adelaide. The exports of breadstuffs for the week amounted to 1,600 tons. A coal seam, eighteen inches thick, has been struck at Coorong. Parliament has been opened. Wheat, 5s 9d.
