Auckland, June 19. There are strong indications of another excitement respecting mining stock at the Thames. For some time the mines have been improving greatly, and it is now generally believed that many mines are on the eve of rich discoveries. Large numbers of Natives are assembling at T® Kuiti for the meeting on the 28th. Haupoki, who went from Kawhia to Wellington m the Luna, has arrived at Alexandra, and states that his tribe will not interfere to prevent the arrest of Furukutu. Tano, one of Thomson’s sons, has joined the Kingites, but Hote, the other, will probably support the Government, having publicly expressed his determination to follow the dying advice of his father. Manuhiri justifies Purukutu’s conduct in murdering Sullivan. Wellington, June 19. Paora Tuahere has returned from Tawhiap, who refuses to comply with the Governments demand for the surrender of Burn, Mackay’s assailant, but offers assurances that he will prevent any further murders or outrages. Napier, June 19. Coleman’s Station, comprising 10,000 acres
of good agricultural freehold land, subdivided into paddocks, and laid down in English grass, with 8,000 superior class sheep and 900 head cattle, has been sold to Watt Brothers for L 30,500. Naseby, June 19. A boy, nine months old, swallowed a glass marble, and for ten minutes was apparently lifeless, that time having elapsed before it was extracted. Dt Dick kept up artificial respiration for two hours, and at last succeeded in restoring him to life. The parents had left the child as dead.
