THE VOLUNTEERS.
The Port Chalmers Naval Volunteers fired off the final competition for the Company’s Belt, on Monday, at their butts in Sawyer’s Bay. The conditions were 400, 500, and 600 yards ; kneeling at the first range, and any position at the other two. Sub-Lieut. Wilson and Gunner R. Lean were ties, and in firing off the latter won by two points. He, therefore, keeps the belt for six months. The scores were : 400 500 600 yds. yds. yds. Tl. Gunner R.
