CITY POLICE COURT.
Saturday, June *7. (Before his Worship the Mayor.)
Drunkenness. —John Harrison was fined ss, with the option of twenty-four hours’ imprisonment; and Richard Lockwood, an old offender, 40s or forty-eight hours’. Lockwood was further charged with assaulting Sergt. Hanlon while in the execution of his duty, and the charge having been proved against him, be was fined 60s, or, in default of payment, seven days’ imprisonment with hard labor.
Vagrancy.— Mary Jarvey was charged with having no lawful means of support. She stated that since she had been discharged from gaol she had boon (subjected to very cruel treatment, and wished to kuow if there had not been a Refuge started in Duuediu. His Worship remanded her till Saturday to enable the police to make inquiries and 'to see if she could be admitted to the Female Refuge.
