A BACHELOR'S CLUB.

To the EtUiox*

S'U, —gnawing your eourt-sy in extending tire free use of your columns to correspondents, I venture to send these few lines, in the hope that they will find a place in your journal. lam in a “ little difficulty,” and should feel obliged to you, Mr Editor, for your opinion on an idea I have. The “ difficulty” is this; I have been searching for something like comfortable lodgings, at a reasonable cost, for the last three mouths, without success. Being a single young man of the scrihendi tribe, I frequently hear complaints from my follows as to the discomfort, &c., experienced by them in their respective domiciles. Now, I think the young men of Dunedin might take the matter into their own hands, and endeavor by some means to administer to tbeir oun comfoit, I would propose that a club should be formed, with a capital of say LSOO, in L 5 shares. A suitable building would have to be obtained and furnished, Ac, ; but these are matters of detail for after arrangement. The concern could be managed by some of its members, and I am sure, with a little care, the result would prove in every way satisfactory, as a more comfortable home than nine-tenths of our young men at present enjoy, could, be provided at a moderate cost, ]f this subject interests apy “ unfortunate” similarly situated to niysolf, I shall be glad to r, C t ive a communication from him, addressed to your care.—l am, &c., SCRIBENDI. Dunedin, May 12.
