Wellington, April 12. At a meeting of the University Council to-day, the date of the examination for Colonial Scholarships was postponed to May 26, Napier, April 12. Peacock’s hotel, at Tarawera, half-way between Napier and Taupo, was burned yesterday. The cause of the fire is unknown. The building and stock were insured for L4OO in the South British Company.
