In addition to the above, Mr Robinson has also purchased, op his own account, two Leicester rams which have just been imported by the Messrs Maclean from England, The quality of these sheep may be inferred from the fact that one of the rams was sold in England, by public auction, for 105 guineas. “The Mistletoe Bough,” which is a melodrama of the old school, with a dreary plot, the principal features of which are the villanies of a feudal lord who has been refused the hand of a womvn whom, out of revenge, he shuts up to die in an old chest with a secret spring, in a tower, was played last evening in the Theatre to an indifferent house. A very sudden death occurred yesterday evening. A cabdriver named Harrold, between fifty and sixty years of age, was seized with blood-spitting, while driving his c>b along King street, and when near its junction with St. David street. Mr Hodgkins, who was in the cab at the time, with the assistance of Mr Hibson, butcher, conveyed Harrold to his house in George street, close by, and Dr Hums, who lives opposite, was sent for, but his services were of no avail, us the man died within live minutes from the time he commenced to spit blood. The cause of death was the bursting of a bloodvessel. driving, and sell Ids horse and cab. He leaves a widow, but his family are all married.

The Circus was very well attended la 3 t evening, and the who'c of the programme was gone through as mual in the most perfect manner. The Carlo brothers introduced a new feature in their “ Concert Diabolique,” in with hj they performed some of the most difficult acrobatic feats—climbiuy. turning over, jumping, twining around each other, and at the same time continuing eacli to play a violin, no matter in what position ho was placed. The coolness and dexterity with which the bowing and ling ring were sustained in positions that seemed to render them impossible, the strange and grotesque changes, sometimes bowing on each other’s violins, sometimes drawing them across another’s bows, rendered this one of the most extraordinary exhibitions ever devised Throughout a Jong series of changes of position, involving great personal exertion, tune and time were kept accurately, and this “ Concert Diabolique ” must be regarded as a remai kable instance of the power of the will over the muscles, and the possibility of training the attention to different physical actions at the same moment. To-night is the last performance of the Company, which will leave for Melbourne by the Tararua. The following amended regulations appear in a New Zealand Gazelle, dateu lebruary 20.
