SCOTT SCHOLARSHIP.
T<J -the. E<liior. Sir, —We heard a great deal of talk at one time about a Scott Scholarship. Where are the results ? Has the whole matter fallen through ? If so, why ? If anything at all is being done, the public should know of it. How can they be expected to support a movement of which they are ignorant ? Sir Walter Scott was a great opponent of what he called a peculiar vice of the age—“dawdling.” 1 must say I think the Scholarship Committee is vicious A list of those who had subscribed was published a short time back, but what good did that do ? If the Committee bad been active, the scholarship might have been, held duiing the ensuing session of the University, but there seems no probability of it being open for competition for some time to come. —I am, &c., Hkiiilanokr.
