• This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.)
Drunkenness. —James Tobins was discharged with a caution; Auten Kirlia was lined 10s, or, in default, 48 hours’ imprisonment ; Lina O’Callagbau, against whom there were a score of convictions for drunkenness or obscene language, 40s, or 14 days ; Mrs Jackson, not appearing, had the amount of her bail (40s) forfeited, in default, 14 days’ imprisonment. ISly-grog Seeling.— Geo. Dumb v. James E. Attwood. —Plaintiff in this case is the revenue officer, and defendant a storekeeper Momington. Mr Wilson appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Cook for defendant. From the evidence of a boy named .Scott, it appeared that on plaintiff visiting that quarter, he despatched him (witness) to Atiwoods store to get Is worth of whisky, and tendered him another Is for going. He got the whisky, but from defendant’s son George. On the application of the plaintiff, the case was withdrawn, to allow of a fresh summons being issued. , Bye-law Case.—Juo. Muirhead, obstructing the Main North Road, by leaving two drays, with three horses attached thereto, was fined 40s and costs.
