The Agnes Muir sails on Monday morning for Dunedin, with part of original cargo from London. The schooner Excelsior sailed for Dunedin to-day. It is reported that Tawhiao has loft for the Maungatautari Meeting. It is certain that Manuhiri and Hewi will attend. Lloyd & Co, rope manufacturers, have completed a 13-inch rope, 9> fathoms long, weighing tons, for a Thames mining company. I lie order was received on Thursday afternoon, and the rope made and shipped on Friday afternoon. ahe South British Insurance Company states that the premiums paid to the end of December amounted to L 9,000, while its los>es are only 1.2,099. The Queen Bee sails fur London on Tuesday, with a cargo of gum, wool, and silver, valued at L 40,000. Napier, January 18. A Gazette has been issued, containing titty complaints for hearing before the Land CommisMon. Some are by Fauopeans against Natives, for not fulfilling their engagements. Only the Captnn of the schoon r Margaret has been drowned, two seamen got ashore.
Lawrence, January 20. A Chinaman; named Hang Quong, died suddenly at Waipori on Wednesday. A buggy went over the bridge at Manuka Creek, on Saturday, and fell forty feet. The occupant, Mr Kelso was badly injured, A man named Hewitt choked in bed on Sunday night at Lawrence. A shepherd, named Macpherson, has been missing since the 3rd instant, and is supposed to have been drowned in the Mataura.
