Beautiful Star arrived this morning from Lyttelton and intermediate ports, and berthed alongside the Otago to discharge her cargo of wool. She left Lyttelton at sp.m. on Thursday, and arrived at Akaroa 11.30 the same night ; left again at midnight for Timaru, and arrived there at one next day; left there at 10.30 yesterday, and arrived at Port Chalmers at 2 p.m. to-day. She experienced fine weather throughout. We thank her purser for northern files. The Zealandia, whose passage has previously been reported, was signalled from the Heads at an early hour this morning, and was boarded by Pilot Kelly, who brought her up the Harbor at 10 a.m. There being a fine strong north-easter, aha sailed up and dropped her anchor abreast of the Christian M‘Ausland. The tug Geelong then came alongside and assisted to moor her. Captain Curry, her master, is well known here: he first came in command of the Lady Egidia, and made some splendid passages in her ; latterly he had the City of Dunedin, which is in harbor now. The Zealandia is magnificently fitted up; she has one of the largest saloons of any ship that has been here ; the cabin doors are beautifully pannelled, with white and gold carving; the saloon at the present time is divided into two compartments, the after part being fitted up for the single females ; her ’tween deck accommodation is also well fitted up for passenger traffic, _ Captain Curry reports leaving the Bluff last Thursday, at 2 p.m. with a strong southerly wind, which carried him as far as the Nuggets, which were made on Friday, at .10 a.m., when the wind suddenly changed to the eastward, and consequently had to beat the remainder of the passage. She landed 339 passengers at the Bluff, and brings 84 for Dunedin. The Zealandia has made the quickest passage this season, and comes into Port in fine order.
