SUPREME COURT— In Bankruptcy. Be John W. Waugh.- The bankrupt received his final order of discharge. Be William Foruestek.— Adjudication granted. Meeting of creditors, 3rd January. Be Kowl-nij T. Doksett.— Final examination fixed for January 0. Be Mien a. l Bltleu.- Final examination, Mr A. Bathgate for the petitioner; -Mr E. Cook opposed on behalf of the trustee, and Gooduir, Pell and Co., the principal creditors. The bankrupt was licensee of the _ Royal Exchange Hotel, Walker street Dunedin; but before going into the public line ; he had kept a boarding establishment, from which he retired LSO in debt. The hotel was managed by his wife, he working as a laborer during the whole of the time in one of the timber yards in town, at a weekly wage of L 3. W lieu he sought the protection of the Court, his debts amounted to LlO3 ; and lie stated his insolvency was mainly owing to bad debts, caused by his customers leaving him without settling their scores. Some of his customers, he said, gave out that they were going to the Theatre ; and he never saw or haard more of them. He admitted having lent them money ; that ho had offered to pay his creditors 2s Od in the H, the money coming from “ one or two friends ; ’ and that he had not kept accounts, not being able to write. Air Cook opposed the discharge, which was suspended for three months.
