THE DISMISSAL OF MR REID.
To the Editor. Sir, —On reading over the letter upon this subject which 1 contributed to the Otago Daily 'Times of this morning, I am pained to find that keen political feeling should have betra\ ed me into expressions which I now perceive to be offensive and unwarrantable. I regret that I did not confine myself strictly to the constitutional question, which is the only one it would have been proper to touch upon. 1 shall esteem it a favor if you will insert this, as affording me the earliest opportunity of withdrawing observations which I now recognise as having been uncalled for.—l am, Ac., Master Humvhrey.
