Civil Cases. i Darling (trustee in the estate of Bennett and Weddcrspoon) v. Waugh.—E26 10s 9d, balance of account for goods supplied. Mr Stewart for the plaintiff. Evidence was given in proof of the correctness of the account, Judgment by default for the plaintiff for the amount, with costs. Same v. Brown and Waugh.—Ll 1 19s 2d, for balance of account. Mr Stewart for the plaintiff. The defendant Brown pleaded not indebted, so far as he was concerned. Strachan, salesman to the firm of Bennett and Weddcrspoon, proved the delivery of the goods, and that orders were given jointly by the defendants. Charles Brown had given orders for goods from Bennett and vVedderspoon, and had paid money to them. He produced certain receipts for money paid, but had burnt one in order to light his pipe. He never offered to pay half the account to relieve him of liability. He was working for wages for Wauph.— For the defence, I, J. Jack*on said he arranged for building the house for which the goods were procured and contracted with Waugh solely. His Worship adjourned the case to Wednesday for further evidence.

Jcwitt v. W, Farrar.—Lll ss, for fish supplied. Judgment for the plaintiff for the amount claimed, with costs.
