WASTE LAND BOARD.
The Waste Land Board met at noon yes* tei'day, present, the Chief Commissioner of Waste Lauds, Messrs Allan, Duncan and Hughes. Messrs Gillies and Street, on behalf of White, Bros., of Wakatip, applied for a lease of 200 of run 824, their improvements being on it. The Board could not recoin* mend the application, as the ground applied for is a village site. The application to have inserted in a coal lease the name of R. E. Pagg as applicant was declined. Mr Hdghes wag requested to report pn the reply pf K. C. Mappy |P tKe letter df Mfc Chapman. Mr Murray's assessment of the carrying of run 443, applied for by Mr Sanders, was approved. The run to bo advertised under the usual conditions. Willian Young’s request for a lease of 100 acres of the Warepa Bush reserve was declined, as was also Messrs Williams and Archer’s application for a reconsideration of the decision of the Board to reduce tlje jetty site tq 100 fpet frqptag«. ■' ■’ A similar request ■ from Flaisted and Co. was granted. The objections to Robert Campbell’s application fqr laud, on i*UU3 If and Qtj, OP fye ground qf %ir being auriferous, were referred to the (Government for consideration. On the application of Mr Callender, it was determined to o(Ver two 10 acre allotments fur sale by auction _ at per acre upspt price as loud at special value \ qu bloc# 8, Dunedin and East Taieri. The petition that the town of Ophir should be offered for sale, was referred to the Government. Frederick Horde's opplication for part of section 52 block 8, D and E, was declined. ■
