MAYOR’S COURT.
Tins Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor and A. J. Burns, Esq., J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. Robert Rennie was lined ss. ADLKfiRD COLD UOIiI’.KKY. JohnTclfoid was charged on warrant with stealing, at Anwtown, a quantity of gold, valued at LIOO, the property of one Joseph Morris. Mr E. Cook defended. —Detective Farrell stated, from information received, he was aware that there was a warrant out for the prisoner, charging him with having stolen LIOO worth of gold, the property of James Morris and others, at or near Arrow. The prisoner gave himself up to the police at 120 p.m. on Saturday. He surrendered his personal effects, consisting of 7ozs. Idwt. and Igr. of gold. 'Jhe weight of the gold tallied with what prisoner stated when giving himself up. The prisoner was, on the application of the Commissioner of Police, remanded to Arrow, bail being allowed—himself in LIOO, and two sureties of LSO each.
INDECENT LANGUAGE. Naughton v. Ravenshall. —Case dismissed. BYE-LAW CASES. John Philips, leaving bricks in Arthur street, was fined 5s and costs ; John Fletcher, cattle wandering, 20s and costs.
