RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
This Day, (Before I. N. Watt, Esq., R.M.) Appeal Cases. G. M. Aldrich appealed against the valuation of Ll6O made by the Dunedin Waterworks Company on part of the property occupied by him, having increased the rate from four to six per ceut. Mr T. Dick attended on behalf of the company, and stated the directors had reduced the assessment to JvUO, Case dismissed with costs.
William Secular appea’ed against the assessment of L4OO m ule by the Water Company Upon his premises H« stited the rating for the premises had previously been but L 350, and that he considered quite its full value. In reply to his Worship, he said he had no other evidence to bring as to its valuation than what had been paid in the past. His Worship said witness’s evidence was good as far as it went, but that of an expert would have been better. He must dismiss the case with costs.
