MAYOR’S COURT.
Tins Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DUUNKEXNESS. John S, Johnston, the recent lecturer on “Scottish Poetry,” was let off with a caution, having been locked up since Saturday. Henry Eidie was lined “ills, or three days’ imprisonment; and Margaret llobinson 40s, or fourteen days’ hard labor. SUPPOSED THEFT. James Burnett, charged on suspicion with stealing a quantity of tobacco, &c., was, on the application of Detective Farrell, further remanded for a week. CaUELTY TO ANIMALS. Edward Robinson, for cruelly ill-treating a horse, was fined 40s, and being unable to pay the line, went to gaol for a week. BYE-LAW CASES, Charges against Mrs Rye, throwing filth on to Hope street, and Stephen Kiordan, removing the surface soil on the Town Belt, were dismissed with a caution.
