(from gkeville’s telegram company.) Wellington, July IS. The Picton Railway works -were commenced yesterday without any ceremony. Auckland, July IS, The Bifle match between ten Auckland Volunteers and ten from the Thames, was won by the Auckland men. The inquiry into the causes of wreck of the Harriet King has concluded. It is decided that it was caused by want of judgment on the part of the master, but that there was not sufficient blame to warrant the suspension of his certificate.
