Choral Society. —At a meeting of members on Saturday evening the committee brough up its annual report which congratulated the members on the society's progress. The average attendance of performing membere is now 60, the honorary members muster 87, with signs of a further increase ; while the subscriptions bad gone towards purchasing music, For 1872-3 it was decided to put “ The Lay of the Bell” in practice; fifty copies of “Martha” have been order, and will be here in time for rehearsal for the second concert ; the Christmas concert will be the “ Messiah and for the fourth concert an opera of "Martha,” should prove a success. Votes ot thanks were awarded to Messrs G. R. West, A, -I. Towsey, and S. H. Little, .for their valuable services during the past year.
