DUNEDIN RIFLE CLUB.

A general meeting of the members was held on Thursday evening last. The protest against a number of competitors, who, on account of the darkness overtaking them on the day appointed for the last match, fired off the following Tuesday, was considered, and, after discussion, disallowed ; but it was understood that at a future meeting a bye law would be passed to meet the case. The election of a committee for the ensuing season resulted in the appointment of the following gentlemen : A rtillery ; Serat. Morris and Gunr, Cato ; No. 1 Company, Ensign Douglas and Vol, Selby; No. 2 Company, VoN. Marshall and Green; North Dunedin, Vols. J. M‘Laron and Cherrie ; Waikan, Sergt. M’Kenzie and Vol. Lacey ; Naval Brigade, Gunr. l.'obbie ; Messrs Wood and Henderson (civilians) were also elected members of committee. Gunr. Clayton, Artillery, was re-appointed secretary, and Lieut. Grant, Naval Brigade, treasurer. The meeting then adjourned till Thursday week. At a meeting of the committee, the next match was fixed for May 18 ; ranges, 200 and 500 yards; seven shots at each; Wimbledon targets; position, standing at 200 yards, any at 500 yards. The following are the names of the prize takers at the Club’s last match :
