MAYOR’S COURT.
This Dav. (Before his Worship the Mayor. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. James MeGrowstier, for this offence, being bailed out and failing to appear when called, forfeited his bail money, tnat is 40s. John O’Grady was fined ss, or to be imprisoned for 24 hours. LARCENY. G. W. Heathcote, charged with stealing a one pound-note, pleaded guilty, but owing to his youth was discharged upon a severe reprimand. VAGRANCY. Robert Wade, for conducting himself in a manner calculated to provoke a breach of the peace in Pall Mall yesterday, was fined 40s. The hearing of “ Police v. Jane Monson” for using indecent language was adjourned till Wednesday next. The case “ Lear v. Beck” imposing upon complainant with the view of obtaining a pair of boots, was withdrawn. OFFENCES AGAINST THE BYE-LAWS. Nimon v. Prouclfoot—obstructing Castle street with timber—adjourned to Wednesday next. Robert Allan, for allowing a cow to stray, was fined 2s fid. Robert M'Mullcn, plying for hire off the cab-stand in Princes street, was ordered to pay 5s and costs. John Russell, for removing certain offensive mattter contrary to Regulations, fined for this oftence 2s fid and costs ; and Lewis Lewis, for allowing water to bo wasted, was fined Is and costs.
