GENERAL ROAD BOARD.

The General Eoad Board met this morning : The following rates were sanctioned: — Mount Royal, Gel in the £ ; Hawkesbury, Is ; Anderson’s Bay, 4d; Southbridge, Is; Breadalbane, 6d ; Laudon, 6d; Teaneraki, Is. The proposed special rates to Waimataka and blew Paver of 3d in the pound were referred to the local Eoad Board and district engineer. Mr Laruach’s application to purchase a closed road line was agreed to. Bis application and Mr Logan’s were referred to the District Eoad Board. Applications from Deborah Bay and other places were referred to the local boards. In regard to the Portobello Beach road, the local Eoad Board were ordered to be informed the survey might proceed, and all costs beyond L 3 would be paid by Mr North, On the application of the West Harbor Beach road, the Eailway Company were ordered to be informed they would be requested to fulfil their contract. Mr Carrier’s report on Walton road district was approv. d, as also was Mr Cairns’s on the North-East Haibor district. On the petition of the Pine Hill ratepayers to have commissioners appointed, it was resolved that the General Eoad Board has no objection to the election of a fresh member from the ratepayers, if so desired.
