REICHELT V. NEW ZEALAND INSURANCE COMPANY.

The trial of this case was concluded on Saturday evening, when the jury, after a retirement of about 25 minutes, brought in a verdict in favor of the plaintiff. The issues were answered as follows :—l. Did the fire happen from the wilful act of the plaintiff ? No. —2 What amount, if any, is the plaintiff entitled to recover from the defendants? — LI 000. The verdict carries with it the interest claimed in the plaintiff’s declaration ; and it decides the actions brought by him against the Liverpool, London and Globe, and Victoria Companies. At Mr Barton’s request, his Honor certified for a special jury- ______
