The amount of revenue receiver! at the Cus-tom-house on go°ds cleared for consumption to-day, was £1,171 11s Od. Messrs Goldsborough, of Melbourne, report under date January 1-3 he wool season continues in full operation, arid a lar. e and satisfactory business is being transacted, owners generally being glad to take advantage of the prices which are ruling. At the auction sales held during the month, 24,121 bales have been catalogued, of which 18,000 bales have been disposed of, and this quantity added to previous sales makes an aggregate of 62,763 bales sold in this market since tlie commencement of the season on the Ist of October. The total number of bales offered at auction during the same period is 81,416, and the fact of such a large quantity having been submitted to public competition within the short space of three months, furnishes abundant proof of the rapid expau sion of the Colonial wool sales. 3 here has not been any material alteration in prices during the month. Our auction held on the 22ud ult.—which, owing to the interruption to business caused by the holidays, has been the only sale held since the mail reached l iere _passed off with spirit, and about 3300 bales were sold at full rates, greasy ranging from B.UI to Is 2>d, and washed from Is 4id to 2s 2jd, the latter price being obtained for a clip of 43 bales.
