MAILS CLOSE — Monday, January 15. For Lyttelton, Christchurch, Hokitika, Greymouth, and Chatham Islands, per s.s, Wellington, at 10.30 a.m. For Timaru, Akaroa, Lyttelton, Christchurch, Greymouth, and Hokitika, per s.s. Eangatira, at 4.30 p.m. Tuesday, January 10. For Timaru, Akaroa, Lyttelton, Christchurch, Hokitika, and Greymouth, per i.s. Maori, at 1.30 p.m. British mails via Sau Francisco will be despatched from this office on the 19th January. Overland mails for Kaihika, Waiwera, Popotunoa, Oteraia, Mataura and Invercargill, will, in future, be despatched from Dunedin on Tuesday and Friday mornings, at Ga.m., and will arrive on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, at 5 p.m. For money orders, registered letters, and newspapers, one hour previous.
