This Day. (Before His Worship the Mayor, and James Brown, Esq., J.P.) OBSCENE LANGUAGE, Elizabeth Weir, alias Skinner, was fined 10s, for using obscene language, DRUNKENNESS. James Sweating alias Henry Simpson, was fined*St)A ,Q’ three days hard labor. defence against tiie bye laws. Louis Solomon was charged with throwing out live ashes, to the danger of his neighbors. It will be remembered that there was a narrow escape from fire in George street on Tuesday, and it was now sought to establish that the fire was caused by some live ashes jth(town info his yard by some of Mr SoloThe evidence for the defence clearly proved thajb no aches had be.en thrpiyn out that day ; and th,e” ‘fire could pOt have resulted from those past opt the previous day. The ease WAS dismissed, Charges preferred against John M airhead, plying for hire off the stand, and James Smith, carrying passengers in of tfip number allowed by law, were dismissed with a caution.
