GENERAL ROAD BOARD.

Tifis Day. A meeting of the General Road Board was held to-day. Pr.sent-His Honor the Superintendent, Messrs Reid and Bradshaw. The following rates were sanctioned : Meadow Bank, Deborah Bay, 6d in the pound ; Jacob’s Eun, 2d per acre; Clai’endon, Is in the pound ; Lambton, 4d in the pound ; Warepa, Is in the pound; Waimatuku, 3d per acre. On the application by the Pine Hill Road Board for permission to borrow L2OO, it was resolved that the Board will be prepared to decide the matter .at its next meeting, and to sanction the loan on condition that the number of ratepayers is sufficient. The road applied by S. E. Green to be closed was agreed to be inserted in the next Roads Diversion Ordinance. It was resolved to proceed against Mr T. L, Salmond for permitting gorse to be spread on to the road line under the Provincial Acts Validation Act, 1867. The local road board at Kurimito having collided, directions were given to fill up the vacancies under part 9, section li}, P. R. Ordinance, 1865.
