A largo amount has been subscribed for the purpose. 'The Provincial Council is to be asked for land as an endowment. Wanganui, December 11. Mr Harvey Thompson, Clerk to the Resident Magisrate’s Court, has been charged with embezzlement of LBS of Government money. He pleaded that the accounts had got into confusion owing to the press of business, and that Ijc }pul no inLon to defraud, Tie has been committed for trial.
