Oamaru —Stb, daylight, Geelong from Dunedin. Timaru—Bth, 2.45 a.m., Pretty Jane from Dunedin.
The s.s. Storm Bird arrived last evening from the Molyneux, and continued her course to Dunedin. The p.s. Geelong, for Oamaru, and the s.s. Pretty Jane, for Timaru, sailed last evening. The fore and aft schooner Pioneer, supposed to be from Pelorus Sound, with cargo, arrived this morning and passed up to Dunedin. Some anxiety was felt at the Port last evening in consequence of a report having reached there ot a boat having been seen capsized at the Heads. From what we have heard, tho facts these : —One of the deeply laden fishing boats on entering the harbour yesterday afternoon was swamped by a wave breaking on board. Being close in shore and other boats being at hand, assistance was immediately rendered. The Government pilot boat took the men on shore and towed the sunken boat on to the beach. Beyond the loss of the fish taken, and some of the boats gear, no other loss was sustained
