(FROM O.T V.VXLLE’S TELEGRAM COMPANY, reuter’s agents.) Auckland, October 24. The local rowing club has resolved to compete at the inter-colonial match to be held at Christchurch. A deputation of five Kingite natives visited the northern tribes in order to gain their co-operation. It is believed that the northern tribes only agree to co-operate on the basis of the surrender of Todd’s murderers. The Chamber of Commerce resolved to petition the to extend the number of articles on which drawback is allowed. Mrs D. Sheehan, late of the Governor Brown Hotel, died .suddenly from apoplexy. One thousand persons attended her funeral. The Sharebrokers’ Bill caused intense excitement here. At a meeting of sharebrokers, a petition to the Assembly, asking it to modify the Bill, was adopted. The keteh Leonidas has been totally wrecked ; all hands saved. Arrived. Ballarat, barque, from London, Commercial,—Wheat and flour dull, Auckland flour, LI 4to LIG. Canterbury wheat, 5s to 5s 6d. Mr Lennox reports that the share market is quiet. Caledonians—Buyers, LI 15 ; sellers, LI2O. Thames’s, L 22 10s; Nonpareils, L 5 10s; All Nations, Lsss ; Shotovers, 14s; Waitematas and Inverness, LI. Ti.maru, October 25. The Show to-day was a capital one. The weather was fine, and there were crowds of spectators. The cup for the largest prize-taker in mei-iuoes was awarded to Mr W. A. Tolmie. The principal prize-taker for long wool was Mr G. G. Russell. The show of agricultural implements was good, and that of cattle and horses moderate. The cattle cup was awarded to Mr W. XJ. Stack.
