{From our own Correspondent.) Wkl li not on, September 15. Mr Macandrow made an excellent speech in moving bis resolutions yesterday. Mr Fox stated that the Government opposed them. Messrs Hall and Ilolleston also opposed them, expressing their approval of the Government financial policy. The debate is adjourned for a fortnight. Mr Fox replied on the Education Bill, intimating his willingness to accept nonessential amendments, but that if the principle was disturbed he would withdraw the Bill. Ministers are considered safe. The Port Chalmers Eailway Agreement Validation Bill has'finally pass', d. Shepherd to-day called Mervyn a laughing jackass in the House. There was gn at indignation at his conduct.
