AH well on board. The s.B. Tararua, from Melbourne via the Bluff, arrived at an early hour this morning. Her passengers, cargo, and mails, were conveyed to Dunedin by the harbor steamers on their morning trips. The twin-screw steamer Pretty Jane, from Kakanui, arrived last evening, and was placed alongside the ship Gamecock, to discharge her cargo of preserved meats and tallow. The coal laden barque Memento, from Newcastle, was towed in this forenoon by the steamtug Geelong, and was placed alongside the hulk Henbury to discharge cargo. The schooner ,Tein Esser, that sailed for Auckland yesterday, beat out from the Heads, and proceeded on her voyage this forenoon. A steamer broke down, supposed to be the Maori, was signalled at 1 tun. to day. The Geelong proceeds to the Hondo to tow the disabled vessel in. A square-rigged vessel is reported to have been seen by the Geelong off Cape Saunders this morning, and may shortly be expected to arrive at the Heads. The schooner Enterprise, said to be from from Havelock, arrived, and passed up to Dunedin this forenoon. A laden ketch, supposed to lie the Heron Belle from the coast, arrived, and passed up to Dunedin this forenoon. The s.B. Beautiful Star and thes.s. Ahuriri, tor Lyttelton and intermediate ports sailed last evejing. Intelligence has been received of the death of Captain Smith of the barque Annie, that a short time ago arrived at this port from New York via Adelaide, and sailed hence for Newcastle, on July, 19th. It appears that Captain Smith, who had heed in delic ite health, remained at Newcastle to regain strength, but died suddenly 3 days after his vessel had sailed for Wellington. A ship to the southward was signalled at 2p.m, to-day.
