The bailiff of the Court proved the service of the summons, hut that the defendant was ill. This was confirmed by the plaintiff, and the case was adjourned to this day week. Wright v. Leßrun.—L3 10s. Mr Stent for the plaintiff. The defendant admitted owing L2 14s, but denied being liable for IGs water rates. It was proved that he took the house subject to water rat«s. Judgment for the plaintiff by consent, for the amount with costs. Simpson and Asher v. M. Paterson. — Ll9 4s 0d for goods supplied. Judgment by default for the plaintiff, for the ammmt with costs.

M'lntosh v. Swan.—Ll 3s 6cl, for wood and coal. The defendant admitted owing 6s. The plaintiff appeared to have made a mistake in the agreement, which was for cutting firewood.
