In answer to Messrs Dalgety, Nichols,, and Co.’s applicf.t on that a moderate price shouldbe fixed on coal taken from the pit ou Benmore Station, the Board resolved that 15s per ton should be charged at the pit’s mouth. . - Messrs M Kinlay and Herbert’s applications to purchase, agricultural leases as follows—sections 177 and 178, block 2, Tuapeka —were agreed to. Smith and Andetson applied, on behalf of C. T. Marie and another, for leave to enter and work Holt’s.coal-pit at Clyde. Application allowed ; Mr Arthur and Mr Spence to examine the mine with their own assistants, all expenses to be defrayed by the applicants, and.a report to be furnished to the Waste Land Board. - ■ - Mr Hutcheson, for Mr James Ure, applied to purchase section 6, block 10, Herbert. To be open for sale as well as all temporary reserved sections. Bo Benjamin Washer’s objection to granting a lease to Caleb Doyne, the following minute was agreed to :—The land was granted to Doyne, after full consideration, on the reduction of the price of coal to 7 s 6d per ton. Mr Tolmie’s application to have L 240 deposit, in respect of pre-emptive right in runs 51 and 78, taken in payment for land, was granted. Section 52, block 1, Otakia, was ordered to le sold as land of special value, having been reserved from sale for some time.
