MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DRUNKENNESS. Jane M‘Gooch not appearing had her bail forfeited, aud Samuel Symma was lined 20s. VAGRANCY. Elizabeth Halliday was charged with having no visible lawful means of support. Mr. (Jatamore conducted the prosecution. It appeared from the evidence that the prisoner had been living on prostitution for some years, and was well known to the police. The graver part of the charge was that she endeavoured to (Lcoy the wife of one, Mr. Howell, who resides at Green Island, from the paths of virtue. This she denied, aud to enable the prosecution to substantiate the allegation, and to give her an opportunity of proving that she now earned an honest livelihood, the case was adjourned for a week. OFFENCES AGAINST THE EYE LAWS. Michael Fleming, for having an unregistered dog in bis possession, was fined 40s.
