BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.

(FROM OREVILLE’s TELEGRAM COMPANY, REUTER’S AGENTS.) Invercargill, May 25. Yesterday afternoon the schooner Lady Darling, from Riverton to Melbourne, with a cargo of wheat, oats, and barley, went ashore on the beach. She left Riverton on Monday, and lost two anchor’s crossing the bar. She subsequently came to anchor under Hiarells point, with remaining anchor, which snapped during a heavy gale. All sail was put on and the vessel was driven high up on the beach. It is expected the cargo will be saved but the veasel is sure to become a wreck. Dr. Hector reports that his analysis of the Knapdale water, from the effects of which it is supposed Mr M‘Nab’s children died, shows no trace of poison sufficient to cause death. The Southland members of Council were detained till this morning; they have gone overland. There are no signs of the Omeo, which is overdue, nor any appearance of the weather clearing up.
