Evening Star Office, Saturday evening. The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £3OO 3s Id. There has been an active inquiry for wheat throughout the past week, and we note several considerable parcels have changed hands. The value has somewhat improved, and fair milling samples cannot be secured under ss. In many cases holders refused to quit below os 3d ; but we have not heard of any transactions at this rats, and as millers are generally well stocked, it is not likely they will advance until they are in need of the grain. Oats are neglected, and, excepting for milling and seed lots, fair prices cannot be obtained. Produce dealers are not giving over 2s 3d to 2s 4d for feeding samples. Malting barley is wanted at 3s Dd to 4s ; fot feeding there is no sale. Flour is in first-rate demand, at Ll3. Millers are only supplying trade orders at this figure, and are not induced to dispose of parcels unless at an advance. Wheat, ss. Oats, 2s 3d for feed ; 2s 5d to 2s 6d for milling. Barley, 3s 9d to 4s for malting; 2s 3d to 2s fid lor feed. Flour, LI 3 for sacks ; Ll3 10s for bags. Oatmeal, Ll4 10s. Bran and pollard, L 4 10s, including bags. Pearl barley, L2O. Potatoes, L 3. Straw, L2 10s. Hay, L 4. Chaff, L 4. Onions, Lll. Turnips and carrots, L2 10s. A. Mercer report for the week ending May 13 Retail price—Fresh butter, Is 2d per lb ; salt butter, Is ; salt butter in kegs, lOd to lld per lb. Colonial cheese, fid to 8d per lb. Rolled bacon, lOd to Is per lb. Colonial hams, Is 2d per lb, scarce ; English hams, Is 4d to Is fid per lb, but little demand. Eggs, 2s 9d per dozen, and scarce.
