The landlord, Mr Chapman, was called in, and on searching the prisoner he found the money, >a portion of which could he identified, on him. A previous conviction of two years for indecent assault on the West Coast was proved against the prisoner, who was sentenced to two mouths’ hard labor. VAGRANCY. Catherine Mason did not appear to answer a summons charging her with being the keeper of a disorderly house, and a warrant was ordered to be issued for her apprenension. In applying for the warrant, the police stated that great complaints continued to be made against the defendant, and it was with great difficulty that the police were able to get at her, she invariably keeping her house locked against them. A grl named Kirby had been taken out from the Industrial School for service, but had left it; and Mrs Mason getting hold of her enticed her to her bouse, and there introduced her to bad company.
