Evening Star Office, Saturday, evening. The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £1,073 4s 7d. In breadstuff's the market during the week has been steady. Wheat has advanced 3d. per bushel since our last quotation, and milling samples are now saleable at ss, delivered in Dunedin, As the farmers appear to be satisfied with the price now ruling the supply has greatly improved, and millers are enabled to have a good choice in the selection of parcels for grinding. , , . Oats are in speculative demand at la da for milling and seed samples 2s fid is a fair quotation. Feeding oats can be sold at 2s 4cl to 2s sd. Barley, for malting, is easily quitted at 3s 9d to 4s—inferior is still unsaleable. ~ . , ~ , There has been a good inquiry for Hour, ami Considerable trade has been done, especially towards the end of the week. The price is firm at Ll3, and millers are not prepared to accept les* for parcels. Wheat 4a 9d to ss, inferior, 2s fid to 3s. Oats, 2a 3d 3a Gd. Barley 2s fid to 4s. Flour, Ll3 in sacks, LIS 10s bags, Pollard and bran, L 4 10, including bags. Oatmeal, Ll4 10s. Pearl barley, L2O, Potatoes, in good demand at L 3 straw, at L2 10s. Hay, L 4. Chaff, L 4. Onions, LI 1, Turnips and carrots, L2 10s. A. Mercer reports for the week ending today Fresh butter, Is, and scarce ; salt batter, for up-country orders, lOd to IOJd, and in good demand; eggs, 2s fid to 2s 9d, and very scarce ; colonial bacon, roll, lOd to Is, and scarce in the market; side bacon, smoked, Is; colonial hams, Is to la 2d ; Sinclair’s hams, Is fid; colonial cheese, 7d and 8d; English cheese. Is 4d to Is fid, Messrs Driver, Stewart, and Co. report as follows for the week ending 6th May Fat Stock : The weekly market was supplied with about 3400 sheep and about 25 head cattle, which being in excess of the requirements of the Meat Preserving Company and the trade, very low prices had to be submit ted to. Everything, however, was clea-ed, except about 300 sheep, at following rates : 4s 9d to 7s for merino wethers, 9s to 9s fid for half-bred do, 3s 9d to 4s 3d for merino ewes; beef 16s to 17s fid per lOOlbs. Storesheep A fair demand exists for sound young sheep, with but few sellers. Store Cattle are plentiful, at low rates. Stations : We have sold Messrs Yon Tunzelmann and Pickett’s run, 60,000 acres on Lake Wakatip, with 10,000 sheep, on private terms. Wool: We have not held any public sales during the week, but have placed several lots privately at full rates.
