TO OUR LOCAL LEGISLATORS.
All ye men wbo’ve been elected, As Otago's \l. P. G.’s, Recollect you’ve been selected, Hoping you will prove, *' the cheese. First, think of those “ pots of money,” Loans, which Vogel’s bringing back ; Separate the wax lion honey, Let we fairly get our whack. Give support to things progressive, Help the working man to live ; Remedy those “ Acts ” oppressive, Which the rich all power give. If Macandrew makes suggestions Which appear both fair and right, Give him aid on all such questions ; If not, leave him out of sight. Turn your thoughts on immigration; Such as good to all may bring j Help our plans of education, So that all our praises sing. Be no bigots—nor obstructive, Steer an independent course ; Let your minds ’gainst schemes destructive Of our weal—despite their source. Wahkiieit.
