FIJI.

Fiji papers are to hand this morning via Newcastle. They state that on the morning of the 13th March last, Mr Bailie, former!/ member of the Victorian Assembly for Castlemaine, and a partner with _Mr Butters as stock and share brokers, Collins street, Melbourne, was found in his sleeping department dead, and with every appearance of having been murdered. Mr Bailie and his partner, Mr Scott, occupied a hut together, and Mrs Baillie occupied another a few yards away. Soott was formerly a joiner in Colingwood, and had been on intimate terms with Mr BaiLie for a number of years whilst both resided in \ ic toria. Great efforts were being made to capture the accunod, who made olf during the ni"ht of the murder, taking a quantity of property with him. He was known to be of a rather moody disposition, and liable to brood over even au imaginary slight or fancied wroeg. Private lettms state that a strict search is being made for linn, and when captured ho will be forwarded by the first war steamer to Sydney for trod. A heavy mi'c occurred at hiji on the loth March. H drove the Kestrel and Zephyr ashore, unroofed the Ciitennn and levelled several buildings. it also did much injury to the plantations along the coast.
