Evening Star Office, Saturday eveuln*. The amount o' revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on "ooda cleared for consumption to-day, was £l7l 15s sd. We have very little change to report in the grain market. Transactions are entirely confined to trade lots, millers being prevented from disposing of parcels to speculators on account of lowness of stocks. Growers are sti'l holding back wheat, and until prices become more settled, there is little chance of large parcels changing bauds. We understand the" millers, in order, to supply present wants for flour, have advanced 3d per bushel on wheat, and we may now quote 4s 9d as being the market value for prime samples. Oats are still being purchased at 2s 3d for shipment; millers quote 2s 4d to 2s fid. Waiting samples of barley are in S’ood request, and 3s 9d to 4s is obtainable, •'ceding samples cannot now be disposed of over 2s to 2s fid. Flour cannot now be pu i chased under LI 2in sacks. The demand is good, and stocks arc light. The market is full of bran. Wheat, 4s fid to 4s 9d ; ovts, 2s 3d to 2» fid ; barley, malting, 3s fid to 4s, feeding, 2s to 2s fid Flour, Ll2; Ll2 10s in bags. Bran and Polland, L 4 10s including bags. Pearl barley, L2O; oatmeal, LI S ; potatoes, L 3 ; straw, L2 Is ; hay, L 4; cirrots, L2 Is ; onions, Lll ; turnips, L2 10s ; eh all’, L 4. A. Mercer reports for the week ending today Retail prices—Fresh butter, in lumps and prints, Is per lb ; salt butter, best, Is ; salt butter, in keg. 9d to lOd, and scarce. Cheese, fid to 8d per lb. Colonial hams, Is per lb ; rolled bacon, lOd per lb ; English ham, best brand*, Is fid. Eggs, 2s fid per dozen, and still scarce.
