The following are the resalts of the second clay’s racing:—The Handicap Hurdle Race was won by Lilly Dale ; the Invercargill Handicap by Duchess; the District Handicap by Prairie Flower ; the Consolation Handicap by Stack pole 5 the Hack selling Race by Rob Roy. Kelson, March 17. In the libel case of Sir D. Munro v. proprietors of the Colonist the defendants to-day applied for an extension of the enlargement of the rule for a criminal information. An extension was granted until the next sitting after vacation. Sir David Munro has been served with a copy of the petition against his return, on charges of personating, bribery, and treating. Patea, March 18. The Native meeting at Mataitawa passed off satisfactorily. Tito Kowaru
was present with forty armed followers. Tito wants to come in, bub complains of the armed expeditions being sent out from Pa tea. , Seveaal Europeans we;e present.
