MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor, and J. Brown, Esq., J. P.) DRUNKENNESS. James Robison alias James Duncan, was fined 10s ; Jas. Dermody, 5s ; and Catherine Brown, 40s ar seven days’ imprisonment. REMANDED CASES. James Ashcroft, charged with deserting his wife at Papanui, was further remanded till Monday; James M'Murtre, charged with arson, was remanded to North Taieri to attend the coroner’s inquest to be held there ; and Win. Wakefield and Albert Isaiah, the Maori boys charged with rape at Southland, were remanded to Invercargil. ASSAULT. Fanny Sutherland v. Elizabeth Jeffreys.— Case dismissed ; no appearance of cither party.
