MAYOR'S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DRUNKENNESS. Paxton, John Cameron, and Edward Coonau, were each fined ss. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Edward Coonau was fined 20s and costs, THE LATE OUTRAGE AT SOUTHLAND. William Wakefield and Albert Isaiah, the two Maori boys who wore sent to the Industrial School from Invercargill, were charged on warrant with committing a rape at Campbolton. The Commissioner of Police said these Lads had been improperly committed to the Industrial School, and his Excellency the Governor had, in consequence, ordered their discharge from it, and caused a warrant to be issued for their arrest on the capital charge. They were remanded for a week. OBTAINING MONEY BY FALSE PRETENCES. James Stephens, was, on the application of the Commissioner of Police, remanded to Oamaru to answer a charge of obtaining money under false pretences. MAINTENANCE. James Nimon was ordered to pay I2s weekly towards the support of bis wife. M'Oubbin v. M'Cnbbin, a charge of using threatening language, wrs dismissed for nonappearance.
